Thank you to the many parishioners that attended our "Becoming Christ Cathedral: A Story of Faith and Transformation" series of roadshows! Between January 29 and March 19, seven parishes hosted an evening to learn how this center of faith will profoundly benefit the journey of faith for Catholics across our diocese.

Those attending received illustrative insights on the future of Christ Cathedral and its surrounding campus by Monsignor Arthur Holquin, the Rector Emeritus at Mission Basilica and Episcopal Vicar to the Office for Divine Worship. They experienced much of what more than 25,000 people have seen and heard who toured our "Becoming Christ Cathedral" exhibit in our Christ Cathedral Cultural Center. The essence of that presentation is contained in the video entitled Christ Cathedral: A Transformation.

Cindy Bobruk, the President and Executive Director of our Foundation, also presented an update on the success of the For Christ Forever Capital Campaign. She provided details on the grants made by the OCF through December 31, 2014. Each evening session was well attended and ended on a note of heartfelt gratitude for all who contributed and continue to pray for and financially support our For Christ Forever Capital Campaign.

Thank you to everyone that attended one of these parish events or stopped by our booth at the 2015 Religious Education Congress in the Anaheim Convention Center.

Exhibit hours for our "Becoming Christ Cathedral" exhibit in Christ Cathedral Cultural Center are 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday thru Saturday. Reservations are required for groups of 15 or more and may be made by contacting   Trudy Mazzarella at 949-375-5763.

Did you know that the Pastoral Services Appeal (PSA) funds our seminarians for the Diocese of Orange? There are currently 35 men in seminary formation in six different seminaries.  Nine men are also currently discerning their vocations and will hopefully enter seminary formation in the late summer of 2015.

With your help, the 2015 PSA will grant over $1.1 million to support tuition, room and board, and books for our seminarians who, God-willing, one day will serve our Diocese faithfully as priests. Please keep them all in your prayers.

The 2015 PSA is off to a great start in all 62 parishes and centers of our Diocese of Orange!  If you have made a pledge to the 2015 PSA, we thank you. If you have not yet made your pledge, we invite you to consider pledging a gift that will make a difference in our PSA funded ministries and services and will allow your parish to earn significant rebates for their own important projects. Our 2015 PSA goal across the Diocese is $6,222,000. For more information about PSA funded ministries and services and to make a PSA pledge, visit our website. Pledge envelopes are also available through your parish.

The Orange Catholic Foundation and Catholic Funeral Plan are sponsoring the 2015 Wills and Trusts Week at nine locations throughout our diocese during the week of May 18 through 23.

Take steps to protect those you love with a new or updated estate plan. Through proper planning, the legacy of love and care that you leave for your family and friends can be encouraging and even inspiring.

If you have questions about how to begin or update your own estate plan, please join us at one of our nine sessions conveniently scheduled across the diocese.    Visit our website for more information.

1. Thank you to everyone that supported and voted for the Orange Catholic Foundation (OCF) in the Orange County Register's Golden Envelope Program!
The OCF got the most love in this year's selection of designated charities to benefit from the Orange County Register's Golden Envelope program. We received nearly 11 percent of the 29,435 votes cast, resulting in $81,518 worth of "free" advertising.

2. Thank you to the Sponsors, Patrons, and guests who supported our 13th Annual Conference on Business & Ethics! The net cash proceeds exceeded $280,000. This amount includes $108,370 raised specifically for our Sponsor our Students program.

These funds will be used to support tuition assistance for our Catholic elementary school students in the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 school years. A portion will also be invested to grow the School Tuition Assistance Endowment Fund managed by the Orange Catholic Foundation to ensure the long-term sustainability of our schools.

Several years in the making, yesterday marked the official launch of the West Coast broadcasting center for Irondale, Ala.-based EWTN, the Eternal World Television Network. A prayer service, celebration and blessing was held in the Cultural Center at Christ Cathedral in Garden Grove.

The network’s first “West Coast” show was recorded in the new studio on the eighth floor of the Tower of Hope on the Christ Cathedral campus. The first guests included Diocese of Orange Bishop Kevin Vann and EWTN Global Catholic Network Chairman and CEO Michael Warsaw. Future programming will include Mass and stories of faith that are interest to the network’s global audience.

“As we transform the Christ Cathedral campus into a dynamic and inspirational center of Catholic worship and outreach, we are blessed to partner with EWTN to share our community’s energy and faithful witness with the world. EWTN’s partnership will profoundly benefit our Church, enabling us to share the love of Christ with millions across the world in multiple languages from the Cathedral campus, here in Orange County,” said Bishop Vann.

Following morning prayers led by the Norbertine monks and comments by those that were integral to the formation of the partnership between the Orange Diocese and EWTN, Bishop Vann blessed the television control room, located in the basement of the Cultural Center, and then the TV studio in the Tower of Hope.

“Today’s dedication and launch of EWTN’s West Coast studio marks a significant moment in the history of the Network,” said Michael Warsaw. “Our collaboration with the Diocese of Orange will enable EWTN to produce exciting new programming that will bring the people and the stories of faith that make up the Church in Southern California to our global audience. We are also pleased to develop this studio in advance of the historic renovation of the Christ Cathedral itself. We will be well positioned and prepared to share news of this closely watched transformation with our viewers.”

EWTN is the largest religious broadcast network in the world and transmits programming in multiple languages to 240 million viewers in more than 140 countries. Locally it is available through several cable and satellite providers including Time Warner. It has several other studios in Washington D.C., Rome and Germany.

The Vision of George Washington is not so well known by most Americans, but it is worth consideration as our country stands in peril of loosing everything we hold dear. At a time when our financial solvency and our national security are more vulnerable than we have ever been, what will save us from the doom that lurks at our doorstep? I chose to paint this vision at the triumphant moment when the Angel of Liberty bursts upon the scene. Whether or not the vision is authentic, is debatable, but the message it contains is timeless. Billy Graham's Prayer For Our Nation

Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance.
We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done.
We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.
We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem.
We have abused power and called it politics.
We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.
Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from sin and Set us free.

With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we once again can be called
 'One nation under God!'

The Catholic Church  is a major roadblock in Obama's quest to bring complete Socialism to the U.S. of A.
This video explains  why Obama and his minions must "divide and conquer" the Catholic Church.  If you are Catholic,  you need to watch it. If you are not, you should see it anyway. Our churches need to stand  united!
This video is being  sent out quickly with the hopes that it will get as far as it can before it is  pulled by the "Powers that be."
Please watch this  video , then forward it.  It tells all.  Turn on the speakers.

Dolorosa" are the Latin words for
 "Way of Suffering"
the name for  the traditional road in which
Christ carried his cross to Calvary.
