The District Masters of the entire Philippines has sent a petition to the Supreme Office requesting that the current regalia be still used especially for religious purposes and since the Philippines is a poor country, the members will have a hard time purchasing the uniform.
Supreme's answer? NO.

Mike Voris Leaves the Knights of Columbus
Michael Voris has publicly expressed what many other faithful Catholic men have quietly been doing for some time now,
left the Knights of Columbus.
Many, many years ago, I naively thought the capes, swords and feathers parading in Masses meant they were men who defended Church teaching. When the Deposit of Faith, our schools, our children and the culture was under attack, they were one of the first groups I reached out to. I won't bore you with the all the details but every time I now see them in their ridiculous costumes, it generates disgust.
The Knights does fundraise and uses its sources to do some good work but sadly, the feathers and swords protect corruption, abortion and the political and theological indoctrination of our people into the slavery of sin.

NO COLOR CORP. in attendances or escort for the Priest ,the C.C. commander , Alvin was not invited
NO MEMBERS in tuxedos .
NO REQUEST for wives of passed members to attend the service.
NO USAGE of the long time tradition program of respect used at a Memorial Mass.
NO TAPS, as in other Masses
NO KNIGHT ASSISTED in the mass, a non knight was asked by Priest to be alter server.

Al CASTELLANO F.N. DIDN'T SHOW UP. Apx. 10 Men did show, one never attends assembly meetings.

As Sacristan of Holy Sprit Church, the presiding Priest ask me "what is going on with this group ? "
I explained, I believe it is a few state officers, are self-serving, egoistical men, with little religious connection to the church teaching .
There interest is gain in personal status, the good OL boy routine, ( most have no education or background in management ),
control of money, and man power, at any cost to members or The Catholic Church.

In 2014 , Master Gene Hays used Barry J.M. Crawley and Barry made a $7,000.00 error in his audit.
The Master keeps trying to take control of ASSEMBLY 85 and the MONEY.
We all saw you coming and DONATED most of the MONEY TO CHARITY
Now totally pissed off, Al wants Donations back, stopped payment on two, will try again using the PSD.
How many OFFICERS STAYED in this assembly after Al Castellano took control.

Donation to Holy Spirit Catholic Church and to the Hylond Convalescent Children’s Home were approve before he took office, in the budget.
A budget item used by Navigators completing there term of duty, for a charity they supported..
As comptroller , there was over $ 6,000.00, over one years Dues collection in the bank, when I left office, over twice the funds of any assembly in Orange county.
The dues collected last year from 100 member was $ 3,300.00 and you can not budget more then you collect,
Al does not have a APPROVED Budget for this FY (1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019). no officers or authority to approve.

I spoke with Fr. this Monday Aug. 20 at when we took him to dinner and explained:
This is why Knight State Offices want me removed as Comptroller, just to get the funds this group wisely collected and donated to worthy organizations, to operate there programs. This is in response to the subject matter. As part of the traditional $1,000.00 donation to the exiting Faithful Navigator for distribution to his favorite charity or cause, I chose to make a donation to Holy Spirit Catholic Church and to the Hylond Convalescent Children’s Home. Check #1344 in the amount of $500.00 was presented to the Reverend Saul Alba-Infante for the September 15, 2018, Spanish Community event at Holy Spirit Church. DO NOT STOP payment on this check since the funds have already been allocated. There is a possibility the the check has not been deposited for the upcoming event.

The second check #1345 was issued to the Hylond Convalescent Children’s Home in the amount of $500.00. Unfortunately, this check has not been deposited because checks made out to the Home go to a general fund to be used for other purposes rather than to the children for individual gifts.
The past practice from St. Barbara Sacred Hearts Council 7309 was to purchase individual gifts by the Lady Knights that were given out at their annual Christmas Party. The Hylond Home Administrator prefers that the check be made out to him rather than the Hylond Home so that the funds can be used locally for the Children. I have the voided check in my possession, please DO NOT cancel the already allocated funds. I will turn in check #1345 in exchange for a new check made out to the hospital administrator.

What a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.

2003, I found the books were altered when helping Roy Sapp ( Purser ) understand the bookkeeping mess Barry made.
At that time thousands were missing from the assembly account and the account number were changed each year, to break the QuickBook audit trail.
Ever since Barry has tried to discredit the finding & system I started as Comptroller in 2004 still in use today.
Barry changing the latest audit ( 2014 ) numbers to find fault,
Harassed the Comptroller & Purser with a useless number systems to control & embarrass them.
Barry has a problem understanding basic Account procurers and written instruction.

Barry, 2yr Trustee 2014-2015, changed expense forms data, not allowed by the elected comptroller.
He took a private, month long Audit, making changes with his limited knowledge of account,
made a $7,000.00 error, didn't read the instructions,

Due to the change in location, it is out of the service area of Assembly 85.
Suggest you contact the local Assembly and ask for Chalice service, they can use a blank Chalice for the service.
Assembly 085 does have an engraved Chalice for Daniel Morgan, and will send directly to a Priest of the family choice.
Our policy is not to allow Chalices out of our direct control, no exceptions.

As to the other changes in Schedule C, since I did not have the Faithful Comptrollers Handbook with me during the meeting, I was not able to defend some of the numbers that were being viewed for removal in the Schedule C part of the Audit report. The numbers in Schedule C relative to the 'Dues from 116 Members' totaling $7000 REALLY are supposed to be included according to the following instructions from pages 43-44 of the Handbook, AND they were included on the last Audit with numbers 109 and $3815.

SCHEDULE C � ASSETS AND LIABILITIES
This section will provide insight as to the financial condition of the council. From audit period to audit period it will indicate the council�s financial progress� or lack of it�and where necessary will enable the
trustees, state and district deputies, and the Supreme Council office to obtain a true picture of the council�s financial status..
However, in reviewing previous audits it is apparent that some councils include figures in this schedule that are not applicable to the audit period.
This is particularly true relative to Due Supreme Council: Per capita in the -------------------------Liabilities column and Due from members in the Assets column. It appears that some councils are including as a liability the Supreme Council per capita levy for the period following the one for which the audit is being conducted.
For example, if an audit is being made for the period ending December 31, then the Supreme Council levy for January of the following year should not be shown on the Per capita line as a liability since the audit is for the period just completed.
However, should that January levy not be paid by June 30, it would be included on the next audit. (Doesn�t apply to assemblies.) ------------------

Regarding the Due from members line� This refers to dues owed and payable to the council. Such moneys are considered assets, but not yet collected. These moneys remain assets until such time as the member(s) are removed from the roles. If the financial secretary follows proper billing procedures, he will have sent the First Notices at least 15 days prior to the start of the period.
Entries are not to be made for those members being billed for the following period. To avoid confusion, billing notices should be dated as of the first of the month of the start of the period (January 1 or July 1) not the date the
bills are being prepared. However, should any portion of the bill remain unpaid into the next audit period, that portion is to be included on the ensuing Audit Report.

When a member is suspended or takes a withdrawal, the amount he owes appears on the Audit Report for the period in which he was suspended only. His ledger should be deleted from the council file on or before the end of the period in which he was removed. This procedure will help to ensure that a billing notice is not produced during the next billing period and eliminates the carryover from one period to another of uncollectible dues or other charges on members who have been removed from the roles.

The Vietnamese officers resigned in writing and left, along with the Vietnamese members.
It started with my wife's brother-in-law one year ago during the annual assembly audit 2014.
If you�re looking for the one word, time, a place and witnessed, you�re sadly missing the problem.

The recent place was at Holy Spirit Church, March 12, 7:00 PM present was our Chaplain Fr John Janze, the Master, Gene Hays and members of the Assembly.
Before the meeting, Fr John Janze asked for comments from the member and witnessed, several men gave testimonial against Barry, and not one supported him.
Barry went in to a full melt down against his brother Knights as witnessed by our Chaplain Fr John Janze, Gene Hays and members of the Assembly.

That alone is enough to remove him as a disruptive member of the assembly.
This Issue involves action of Barry against the entire Assembly, not only the Vietnamese.
Barry should have been removed or at least placed on suspension at that meeting.

It turned into a bookkeeping / audit witch hunt. Asking what programs we are using in bookkeeping, it hasn't change since 2004.

Someone keeps thinking this is a bookkeeping audit issue.
Supreme can request at any time and audit the books by a paid CPA.
10 years ago, I found the books were altered when helping Roy Sapp ( Purser ) understand the bookkeeping mess Barry made.
At that time thousands were missing from the assembly account and the account number were changed each year to break the QB audit trail.
Ever since Barry has tried to discredit the finding & system I started as Comptroller in 2004 still in use today.
Barry changing the latest audit ( 2014 ) numbers to find fault, Harassed the Comptroller & Purser with a useless number systems to control & embarrass them.
Barry has no education in bookkeeping or business experience.
Barry has a problem understanding basic Account procurers and written instruction.

{ 3 } AUDIT REPORT � 24Sep03

SYNOPSIS

Figure 1 shows that the year started with a $275 Deposit SHORTAGE

Figure 1 shows that during the year, another $1861.50 Deposit SHORTAGE accumulated

Figure 1 shows that as of 30Aug03, there was $2136.50 in �Deposit Shortages (credit memos)� for Deposit packages that had already CLEARED the Bank (less the CM shortages) and that on 02Sep03 deposits were in fact made that accounted for ALL but $22 of these credit memos. THIS $22 WILL BE recorded as a LOSS subsequent to 30Jun03. The Deposit Shortages ranged in being late from 89 to 390 days (see Figure 1) and clearly indicate that a monthly reconciliation with the Bank Statements was either NOT being done or being IGNORED.

During the process of the Audit, the records required by Supreme were either missing or inaccurate and the Quickbook Pro Database became the �baseline reference� for the actual deposits against the Bank statements, as opposed to the receipts between Comptroller and Purser. The Warrant Vouchers and Vouchers were used to validate the actual expenses entered into Quickbook Pro, both were in sync and used for the Supreme report.

Based on the best data available, the attached AUDIT Report for Supreme, Figure 3, is hereby submitted and uses the actuals from the Quickbook Pro Database (and Vouchers), in spite of the �Deposit Shortages. This is because ALL the �Deposit Shortages�, ALL but $22, were made �current� on 02Sep03, and these will �flush� through the system with the reconciliation of the OPP MMF Bank Statement for period ending 30Sep03. The only compensating entry to be made in the database will be for the $22 LOSS and a Voucher will be submitted for this correction!.

The attached Figure 1 SUMMARY SHEET shows the timeline of deposits and the accumulation of discrepancies from �Credit Memos� that were NOT deposited along with the other checks of the respective deposits with which each CM was associated.

Three UN-ACCOUNTABLE Balancing Adjustments were made in the Quickbook Pro Books that transferred funds from �Retained Earnings� to the OPP MMF Checking account at the close of the last three six month �audit� windows. These were as follows:

Upon analyzing the �reason� for these entries, it appears that the entry of these �adjustments� enabled the period-ending reconciliation of the �Balance� with the Bank Statements WITH SOME NUMBER OF THE LAST DEPOSITS being shown as NOT YET CLEARED, when in fact some of MOST of them had. It is surmised that the �adjustment� was an enabler for the �deposit shortages� to equal the sum of the supposedly NOT YET CLEARED deposits.

From Figure 2, one can see some of this reconciliation hokey-pokey that was evident through the Quickbook Pro reconciliation status done for 6/30/03, as evidenced by the following:

BOULDER, Colo. (ChurchMilitant.com) - A top Knights of Columbus executive � responsible for overseeing the organization's multibillion-dollar insurance operation � has abruptly stepped down from his position. The sudden departure comes as the world's largest fraternal Catholic organization is in court fighting accusations of fraud, racketeering, theft of trade secrets and breach of contract.

The Hartford Business Journal reports that on May 11, Chief Insurance Officer Thomas Smith, Jr. notified Supreme Knight Carl A. Anderson of his retirement, effective immediately. According to Kathleen Blomquist, senior director of corporate communications for KC, Smith's departure is unrelated to an ongoing legal battle with UKnight Interactive (UKnight), a Colorado-based IT firm KC had once employed.

The lawsuit claims KC is hiding the true numbers of its members in order to keep up the appearance that it has sufficient numbers in its rolls to ensure future insurance payouts.Tweet

In 2017, UKnight filed suit in U.S. District Court against the Knights of Columbus, accusing executives of breach of contract. As part of its complaint, UKnight alleges that the organization is concealing a declining membership base in order to safeguard its multibillion-dollar insurance operation. In short, the lawsuit claims KC is hiding the true numbers of its members in order to keep up the appearance that it has sufficient numbers in its rolls to ensure future insurance payouts.

Speaking to Church Militant, UKnight spokesman Robert Siegfried, Vice Chairman of Communication for Kekst and Company, explained the IT firm "created a website that interconnects parties" � a valuable tool for an organization with 15,000 regional and local "councils," or chapters. The project was UKnight's "first entry into the business world, in terms of developing a customer base," Siegfried said. "In fact, Knights of Columbus was the only party they were marketing their services to."But "after working for several years with the Knights of Columbus, getting their system in place with the Knights of Columbus, the Knights didn't go forward with their system," he said.

According to the complaint:

In 2009, UKnight began designing and implementing websites for independent, local Knights of Columbus councils in the Dallas, Texas area. UKnight's work was so successful at helping local councils increase membership, improve communication with members, and increase sales of insurance products that it was encouraged to make a proposal directly to KC for adoption by the entire Order.

The suit alleges that in September 2011, KC executives informed UKnight they had selected the IT firm as their "designated vendor for the entire Knights of Columbus fraternity," offering to "formally announce UKnight as such in exchange for UKnight accommodating certain requests (such as adding legal disclaimers to the websites) made by the KC legal department," as well as "allowing KC to make certain graphic design changes to its platform." UKnight notes that the contract was oral � the firm moved ahead without a signed written contract.

UKnight alleges that according to the terms of the agreement, KC "was not required to make any payment" for its services. Instead, the company's revenue would come from subscriptions to these services, "paid individually by each subscribing insurance agent, local council, assembly, and others."

This arrangement meant KC's endorsement of UKnight as dedicated vendor was critical to its business model. But, the suit alleges, the endorsement never came; instead, as UKnight worked to build a complex interactive, interconnective system to "serve the specific needs" of KC, the vendor received only repeated promises the endorsement was on the way.

According to the complaint, in January 2016, KC suddenly informed UKnight it was launching a search for a new vendor � a devastating blow to the IT firm. "Knights of Columbus decided not to continue moving forward," Siefgried told Church Militant. "That severely impaired the business potential of UKnight and ultimately the value of its business."

The suit alleges UKnight was dismissed because KC executives discovered that UKnight's system would reveal fraudulent membership figures.

Demographic analysis suggests the Catholic Church in the United States and Canada is in the beginning stages of an unprecedented retraction, with millions of its most dedicated, active members entering the last phase of their lives, while younger generations abandon the Church for other faiths or none at all. As pews empty, coffers drain and parishes and schools shut down.

The complaint suggests that the Knights of Columbus is beginning to suffer from this same demographic collapse: "While KC has earned on average less than 5% returns on its $22 billion invested, the number of death benefits paid out has increased 5.67% year-on-year, demonstrating both a downward financial spiral and the effect of its rapidly-aging demographic."

If true, this would have major financial implications. "The Knights of Columbus has two major sources of revenue," Siegfried explained. "One is membership; one is financial products. In particular, insurance sold to members of Knights of Columbus."

And KC's insurance products are "sold exclusively to members of the Knights of Columbus local councils in the United States and Canada only":

Indeed, because KC currently has over $105 billion of insurance in force written against only $22 billion in assets, its insurance program must demonstrate that the Order's membership is growing and that its demographic is not aging in order to maintain the perception of viability to meet its future payout obligations.

The suit alleges KC inflates its membership numbers to maintain a veneer of sustainability. It accuses the organization of preventing its 15,000 local councils from deleting inactive members from their rolls, creating "phantom" councils of dead and lapsed members:

Numerous agents and former agents of the Knights of Columbus have reported to Plaintiff that most councils have at least 15 to 20 members they would like to drop but are not permitted to by KC, suggesting that there are more than 300,000 "phantom members" in existing councils in the US and Canada.

The Knights of Columbus reject these allegations, denouncing them as "scandalous" and "utterly false."

"Strip away all the absurd claims, and this case boils down to a garden-variety business dispute by a website vendor that failed to close a business deal," KC declared in a recent court filing.

"The true nature of this action is that the plaintiff (UKnight) is a disappointed prospective vendor that offered the order inferior and outdated website services that the order refused to endorse," it added. "UKnight is now trying to accomplish through this lawsuit what it could not get through product development and sales negotiations."

In March, U.S. District Court Judge R. Brooke Jackson ruled against UKnight's racketeering claim and its challenge to KC's tax-exempt status. But he also ordered KC to release its membership information, writing: "I find no merit in the hodge-podge of arguments the Knights of Columbus have put forth in what appears to be an almost desperate attempt to preclude any discovery concerning membership information."

KC has not yet turned over its membership figures. In April, the suit was stayed to allow UKnight to secure new counsel, after the firm's original attorney was forced to step down from the case for health reasons. It is expected to resume soon.

On May 1, UKnight founder Leonard Labriola sent a letter to Anderson accusing KC senior management of "executive misconduct." In it, he noted his company took legal action only after a half-dozen letters sent to Anderson in 2016 went unanswered.

Church Militant asked Siegfried if Labriola had received any response to his seventh letter.

"He's not heard from Mr. Anderson," he replied.

The letter was published in a May 10 press release summarizing UKnight's allegations against the Knights of Columbus. The following day, Smith stepped down as Chief Insurance Officer.

Pope receives Supreme Knight and Supreme Chaplain at the Vatican

Pope Benedict XVI received Supreme Knight Carl Anderson and Supreme Chaplain Bishop William Lori in a private audience at the Vatican on Thursday, December 6, 2007.
On behalf of the 1.7 million members of the Knights of Columbus, Supreme Knight Anderson presented His Holiness with a gift of $1.6 million, representing this year’s earnings from the Order’s Vicarius Christi Fund, which was established in 1981.
Over the past 25 years, the fund has provided more than $43 million to the Vicar of Christ for his personal charities and causes.

Pope Benedict XVI, on Oct. 17, announced the elevation two K of C members to the College of Cardinals:
Archbishops John P. Foley and Daniel N.DiNardo. The Cardinals-designate will join 21 other churchmen in receiving their red hats and rings during a Nov. 24 consistory in Rome

Cardinal-designate Foley is a Pennsylvania native and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Council 4546 in Philadelphia. He was recently named pro-grand master of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem after serving for 23 years as the president of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications.

Cardinal-designate DiNardo was born in Steubenville, Ohio, and was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Pittsburgh. He is a former bishop of Sioux City, Iowa, and was installed as archbishop of Galveston-Houston in 2004. He is a member of Father Vincent Joseph Guinan Council 13940 at the University of St. Thomas in Houston.

Cardinal-designate Francisco Robles Ortega, native of Mascota, Mexico, is a member of Santa Martha Council 14098 in Monterrey. He was ordained in 1976 and served as auxiliary bishop and bishop of the Diocese of Toluca before being appointed archbishop of Monterrey in 2003. He serves as chaplain of the Northeast Mexico State Council.

On Oct. 18, Pope Benedict XVI elevated two Canadian bishops,both Knights of Columbus, to become metropolitan archbishops. They are Bishop Martin Currie of Grand Falls, who becomes metropolitan archbishop of Saint John & rsquos, Nfld., and Bishop Anthony Mancini, auxiliary bishop of Montreal, as metropolitan archbishop of Halifax, N.S. Bishop Currie is a Fourth Degree

Knight who joined the Order in 1972, and is a member of Cobequid Council 6633 in Truro, N.S.. Bishop Mancini is a Fourth Degree Knight who joined the order in 1970. He is a member of Montreal Council 284.
