March 3 - Saint Katherine Drexel (1858-1955) Saint Katharine used her
fortune of 20 million dollars to found the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament
for Indians and Colored People. They founded and operated many schools for
Native Americans west of the Mississippi River, and for the blacks in the
southern part of the United States , including Xavier University in New

March 7 - Saints Perpetua and Felicity (2nd Century) Saint Perpetua, a noble lady of Carthage, and Saint Felicity, her pregnant slave, were arrested as Christians along with Saturninus, Secundaulus and Revocatus. Hey were joined by Saturus who had converted them. After Saint Felicity gave birth her baby and Saint Perpetua’s baby son were taken from them and they died in the arena. For more see web link. |

March 17 - Saint Patrick [Optional] (389-461) Patron of Ireland Saint Patrick was the son of a Roman-British deacon. Carried to Ireland as a slave at age 16 he learned prayer and contemplation while working as a herdsman. Escaping after six years he studied his faith and returned to evangelize Ireland in 431. March 19 - SAINT JOSEPH, Husband of Mary [Solemnity], Patron of the Universal Church, This feast celebrates Saint Joseph as husband of Mary and foster father of Jesus. As he cared for the Holy Family, we invoke his care for the Church, the Bride of Jesus. There is another feast of Saint Joseph, the Worker, on May 1. |

March 25 - THE ANNUNCIATION OF THE LORD [Solemnity] While this is frequently regarded as a feast of Mary, it is even more the Feast of the Incarnation of Jesus. This is the day, not Christmas, when God became man and came to live among us. |
