 April 1 - FRIDAY  IN THE OCTAVE OF EASTER - 1st reading  Acts 4:1-12; Psalm 118:1-2, 4, 22-27; Gospel John 21:1-14   Simon Peter meets Jesus as a fisherman [Jn 21:11] and goes on to proclaim His love [Ps 118:2] to the world [Acts 4:12] as a fisher of men

 April 2 - SATURDAY IN THE OCTAVE OF EASTER - 1st reading  Acts 4:13-21; Psalm 118-1, 14-21; Gospel Mark 16:9-15  Jesus sends forth those who have witnessed His Resurrection [Mk16:15-16] to proclaim all they have seen and heard [Acts 4:20, Ps 118:17]

 April 3 - SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER - DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY - 1st reading  Acts 5:12-16; Psalm 118:2-4, 13-15, 22-24; 2nd reading  Revelation 1:9-13, 17-19; Gospel John 20:19-31 Using stones the world would ignore [Ps 118:22] Jesus commissions the apostles [Jn 20:21-23] to exercise His authority [Rev 1:17-19] in the world [Acts 5:15-16]   For more see web link

 

April 4 ANNUNCIATION OF THE LORD [INCARNATION] [transferred from March this year] – [Solemnity] 1st reading  Isaiah 7:10-14, 8:10; Psalm 40:7-11; 2nd reading Hebrews 10:4-10; Gospel Luke 1:26-38; God’s sign to Ahaz (Is 7:10-14), a child who will come to do His Will (Ps 40:7-11; Heb 10:4-10), is conceived by the Spirit of a virgin (Luke 1:26-38)

 April 10 - Third Sunday of Easter - 1st reading  Acts 5:27-32, 40-41; Psalm 30:2,4-6; 2nd reading  Revelation 5:11-14; Gospel John 21:1-19 Jesus, The Lamb that was Sacrificed [Rev 4:12] confirms Peter as the Chief Shepherd of His Church [Jn 21:16] giving him the promised protection [Ps 30:2-3] in times of trial [Acts 5:32]

 April 17 - Fourth Sunday of Easter - 1st reading  Acts 13:14, 43-52; Psalm 100:1-3, 5; 2nd reading  Revelation 7:9, 14-17; Gospel  John 10:27-30   Jesus reaches out to all [Acts 13:47] Those who respond to His call [Ps 100:1-3] are His sheep [Jn 10:27-30] and will be brought to eternal life [Rev 9, 14-17] . 

 April 24- Fifth Sunday of Easter - 1st reading  Acts 14:21-27; Psalm 145:8-13; 2nd reading  Revelation 21:1-5; Gospel John 13:31-35   Jesus calls us to love all [Jn 13:34] We do this through bringing His Word to them [Acts 14:21-27] discoursing of His Kingdom and making known His might [Ps 145:11-13] that all may be united in the new kingdom [Rev 21:1-5]
