| Note: 3 each 1/2" x 1/2" 1/2" steel channel run up the back, with 3/8" rebar all around the front edge. 1/2" x 1/8" steel straps run around the base of the dome with straps running from the steel channels to the top front center, all welded The steel frame goes all the way around the cement pedestal. The outside is covered with 12 AWG 1" x 2" steel mash, wired to the steel supports. Heavy Al. mash covers the inside , wired to the supports to provide a smooth surface to mount the tiles. 1" base of gray cement is forced between the steel mash, but not thru the Al. mash. The final covering of 1/2" stucco mix on the outside surface, we made ours a very rough finish , birds don't sit on it. Small tiles cover the inside, base to the dome , the inside of the dome is smooth, painted white to reflect the lights, this makes the statue glow at night. The lights are low voltage yard lamps, 12 watts each, no permit needed. |
