The Apostle of Divine Mercy
Saint Maria Faustina Helena Kowalska
National Shrine of the Divine Mercy
”At three o’clock, implore My mercy, especially for sinners; and, if only for brief moment, immerse yourself in My Passion, particularly in My abandonment at the moment of agony.  This is the hour of great mercy for the whole world.  I will allow you to enter into My mortal sorrow.  In this hour, I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of Me in virtue of My Passion…” (Diary of St. Faustina)

Divine Mercy Message and Devotion

 The following information is from the booklet “The Divine Mercy Message and Devotion” based on Saint Faustina’s Diary “Divine Mercy in My Soul” Regarding Confession and Holy Communion on Divine Mercy Sunday:
The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. (699)
Image of  Divine Mercy :
I am offering people a vessel with which they are to keep coming for graces to the fountain of mercy. That vessel is this Image with  the signature: “Jesus,I trust in You.”(327)
I want the Image to be solemnly blessed on the first Sunday after Easter, and I want it to be venerated publicly so that every soul may know about it,(Diary,341)
The two rays in the Image denote Blood and Water.  The pale ray stands for the Water which makes souls righteous.  The red ray stands for the Blood which is the life of souls.  It is significant for Baptism and Eucharist .

How to observe the Feast of Mercy:
Celebrate the Feast on the Sunday after Easter:
Sincerely repent of all our sins;
Place our compete trust in Jesus;
Go to Confession , preferably before that Sunday;
Receive Holy Communion on the day of the Feast;
Venerate  the Image of the Divine Mercy;
Be merciful to others, through our actions, words, and prayers on their behalf.

The Chaplet of Divine Mercy:
Encourage souls to say the Chaplet which I have given you (1541), Who ever will recite it will receive great mercy at the hour of death(687).  When they say this chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My Father and the dying person, not as the just Judge but as the Merciful Savior(1541).
By this Novena, [of Chaplets] I will grant every possible grace to souls(796).
Novena :
On Good Friday, 1937, Jesus, requested that Saint Faustina make a special novena before the Feast of Mercy, form Good Friday through the following Saturday.  He, Himself dictated the Intentions for each day.
People pray this Novena in preparation for the Divine Mercy Feast and other times as well.

The Hour of Great Mercy:
At three o’ clock, implore My mercy, especially for sinners; and, if only for a brief moment, immerse yourself in My Passion, particularly in My abandonment at the moment of agony. This is the hour of great  mercy. In this hour I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of Me in virtue of My Passion(Diary,1320)
